Dr. Cecilia Bajusz

When her practice flooded in 2013, Dr. Cecilia Bajusz faced the challenge of rebuilding from the ground up. After spending a few years working as an associate, she’s now in a position where operations are afloat again, but she recognized the need for a more efficient way to manage them. Tell us about your background

Dr. Cecilia Bajusz: I lost a lot of patients due to flooding in 2013, so I'm still rebuilding what I had before. My practice originally opened in 1996 when my son was born, so it was a big year! We do general dentistry and attract mostly an adult demographic. My son, Hunor, spent his childhood at the practice entertaining a lot of our patients and is now the practice manager. His partner, Susan, focuses on our admin, so I get to focus on clinical care. We also have a dental assistant and a technician who takes care of our equipment. 

 

What made you want to switch from paper-based to a cloud solution?   

Dr. Cecilia Bajusz: There was just too much admin. It was difficult to keep up with the claims management.   

Why choose Dentally? What stood out for you about this PMS compared to others  

Dr. Cecilia Bajusz: I liked the simplicity of Dentally, and the way it was shown to me in the demo by the team at Henry Schein One, I knew Dentally was going to be perfect for my practice.   

How do paper claims compare to processing digital claims?   

Susan: It's so much easier, I actually love it! It makes everything faster. Using Dentally has helped with claims because when we used to handwrite them and send them by mail, there were often mistakes. Sometimes the numbers would be incorrect, and the claim would get sent back, meaning we’d have to resend it. But when we submit them online, that doesn't happen.  

Also, the treatment pricing with Dentally is really easy. It only takes a few seconds, and it saves us a lot of time.   

From a business perspective, how does Dentally improve your finances?   

Hunor: Dentally gives you a really clear graph of both daily and monthly production, which makes tracking so much easier.. Plus, we can see outstanding and unpaid balances at a glance, so we always know exactly who owes what. Searching between patients is simple too, with plenty of options to filter and find what we need quickly.  

Jass: I really enjoy the fact that the Dentally team listens to the feedback and tries to help in whichever way they can.

How did you find the Dentally onboarding experience?   

Dr Cecilia Bajusz: I was amazed at the support we received, just amazed. The Dentally team actually came out and spent a day with us; I've never heard of that, so it was fantastic!   

Hunor: I think we were all very satisfied with the onboarding team.   

How has the support from Dentally been since onboarding?  

Hunor: It's been good, we are very happy with all of the Dentally support and team, especially Thomas, he has been very reliable, and we know that we can always reach out to him if we have any questions, he responds to emails quickly.   

Susan: We can also find everything by ourselves using the Help Centre, which is really valuable. 

Dr Cecilia Bajusz: I don’t know any other platform that would provide the support that we have received from you. 

Now that you’re up and running, have you noticed more patients responding well to communications like SMS reminders?  

Susan: It saves us a lot of time.   

Dr Cecilia Bajusz: Which a dentist doesn’t have.   

Susan: Most of our patients love it, but some of our elderly patients are still adjusting, it just makes it easier to connect with some patients.

Do you think patient communications will help patients become a bit more proactive? I'm aware that you’re interested in Dentally Portal’s online booking feature.  

Hunor: Yes, mainly for the convenience. We also see it as a great way to attract new patients, especially the younger generation, who are more likely to engage with booking online.   

What are the top three reasons someone should choose Dentally? How would you encourage your peers to invest in this software?  

Dr Cecilia Bajusz: I would say ease of use.   

Susan: It gives me more time to concentrate on other things rather than just paperwork, I can focus more of my attention on our patients.    

Hunor: I would like to highlight that the onboarding was so smooth and also the continuous support that we have received, I would recommend Dentally alone for those reasons. However, my third and probably most positive response – speaking as the Practice Manager,  I believe Dentally really offered value for money.
