Dental Care @ Berri is a four chair practice located in South Australia. Practice Owner Dr Dimi moved to cloud-based platform Dentally and joined the Elevate customer success program in 2023. Through her partnership with Lauren, the practice has managed some significant changes to their patient retention, practice experience and financial outcomes. Tell us about your background
"I have been practicing dentistry in regional South Australia for 35 years and have owned Dental Care @ Berri for 31 years."
Why choose Dentally?
"I was looking for a cloud based system and was impressed by its intuitive capabilities. The rep who showcased it to me at the ADX in Melbourne 2023 knew the program inside out which encouraged me to make the move to cloud software."
What is your experience of moving to Dentally?
"The first week was extremely challenging as I had only ever used one system and had used that for over 20 years. Overall my experience has been great. Simple and constantly improving which I love! The Dentally team listen to what we want and make it happen. Not only do they make the changes but the speed at which they make the changes is phenomenal."
How do you find using Dentally?
"Easy and intuitive. Streamlined program which makes training of new staff very easy. Our practice manager, Stacey now has greater visibility into our practice metrics, reviewing and measuring chair time utilisation to be able to balance the practitioner time each month and set our practice up for success."
What do you see as the key benefits of Dentally?
"User friendly, automated confirmations, simple treatment planning, recall system and reports. The 6 month Dentally Elevate program proved to be way beyond my expectations. I have tracked numbers with other business consultants previously but working with Lauren has been an unbelievable experience thus far. She makes it simple and chunks it down so the team and I can implement the necessary changes each month. I look forward to her call each month as I get so much out of it on both a personal and business level."
Key Outcomes
- The ADA is seeing patient attendance down 13% across Australia in 2024, however Dental Care @ Berri is managing to successfully weather this storm by halving their number of 'cancelled and not rebooked' appointments, contributing to less holes in practice time month on month. These have come down from over 100 appointments cancelled and not rebooked in November 2023 to just over 50 for May 2024
- A key focus on encouraging patients back into the practice has paid dividends. From having no recall automation previously, recall effectiveness at Dental Care @ Berri has grown to over 40%
- By embracing Dentally's patient portal, the practice has saved 3,600 minutes of in-practice time with patients pre-filling digital forms and updating critical details. This has resulted so far in 60hrs of time back, with less time spent by patients in-practice ahead of being seen by the practitioner completing paper forms.
- With a greater focus on a sustainable, long -term strategy, the practice has worked hard to implement prebooking success, establishing future chair time utilisation for the practice. Now only 25% of patients are seen without a future appointment in place.
